The Saxophone

This volume of the JAZZADELPHIA series features Philadelphia Jazz saxophonists performing their own interpretations of compositions written by Philadelphia Jazz legends. The musicians are encouraged, but not obliged, to choose a composition written by a Philadelphia Jazz legend not already represented in the series.

Each contributing Philadelphia Jazz saxophonist has the choice to record in a solo, duo, trio, quartet or quintet setting. The instrumentation is also their choice, with the predominantly featured instrument being the Jazz saxophone.

All of the recording sessions take place in one Philadelphia area recording studio using equipment of the highest quality. All performances are filmed. Interviews with each of the musicians take place immediately after each recording session and are also filmed.
